Under the theme “Horizons Expand and Real Estate Thrives,” the fifth edition of the Future of Real Estate Forum will be held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, from January 26 to 28, 2026. This global event brings together leading decision-makers, investors, and international experts to discuss the most prominent transformations and future trends shaping the real estate industry.
This year, the forum places special focus on real estate investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia and the implications of the Kingdom’s new foreign property ownership system, which will begin implementation alongside the launch of the forum.
High-Level International Participation in Industry Dialogues
The forum will feature notable participation from influential global figures, including George Bush, former President of the United States; Hillary Clinton, former U.S. Secretary of State; and Piers Morgan, the prominent British media personality.
This exceptional gathering provides a unique platform for exchanging insights on the future of the Saudi real estate market and how new policies—such as allowing foreigners to own property, can attract foreign direct investment and strengthen Saudi Arabia’s position as a leading global investment destination.
Details and Objectives of the New Foreign Property Ownership System
His Excellency Majed Al-Hogail, Saudi Minister of Municipalities and Housing, explained that the newly introduced foreign ownership framework represents a carefully planned and qualitative shift. The system will allow non-Saudis to own property in all cities across the Kingdom, while defining specific geographic zones for ownership in major cities (Riyadh, Jeddah, Makkah, and Madinah) to maintain balance.
He emphasized that the new ownership system was designed to protect citizens’ rights and ensure price stability, while also contributing to increased real estate supply and narrowing the gap between supply and demand.
Supporting Economic Diversification and Sustainable Development
The recently introduced foreign property ownership system aims to achieve multiple strategic goals aligned with Saudi Vision 2030. It goes beyond attracting foreign capital and increasing the sector’s contribution to GDP, extending to the retention of global talent and the diversification of national income sources.
The new ownership system also complements broader efforts to develop sustainable urban environments and improve quality of life, supporting Saudi Arabia’s shift toward a diversified, knowledge-based economy.
Specialized Sessions Exploring the Future of Urban Planning and Technology
The forum’s agenda includes a series of panel discussions and specialized workshops that examine the future of the sector from a comprehensive perspective. Topics will include the latest trends in urban planning and the design of sustainable communities that consider environmental and social dimensions.
In addition, a significant portion of the discussions will focus on the role of modern real estate technologies and innovation in building green structures and developing smart cities—reflecting the sector’s increasing adoption of forward-looking solutions that ensure efficient and sustainable growth.
